Research activities at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication are funded from national grant projects (Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, grants from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and others) and in recent years also from research programmes and centres.

In 2011 - 2013, an important part of research and development funds came from Euroepan Regional Development Fund in the form of two grants aimed to foundation regional research centres CVVOZE and SIX.

Faculty researcher workers are also involved in several projects of the 7th Framework Programme. Currently, new proposals to calls of Horizon 2020 programme are prepared.

The staff are involved in applied research for industrial partners on the basis of research contracts, and within the framework of diploma theses and dissertations.
