HONEYWELL EMI CONFERENCE AND COMPETITION 2005

Honeywell in the cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC), the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME), and the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), the Brno University of Technology (BUT), organize the international HONEYWELL EMI Conference and Competition in the academic year 2004/2005. The abbreviation comes from the English names of areas studied at the faculties (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology).

In the frame of HONEYWELL EMI, winners of faculty competitions at Czech and Slovak technical universities can present their projects. In parallel, a poster competition of students studying at Czech and Slovak technical high schools is organized.

The competition and conference HONEYWELL EMI 2005 is organized under auspices of the rector of BUT Prof. RNDr. Ing. Jan Vrbka, DrSc.

The competition will be organized in 4 categories:

  • Bachelor's projects: oral presentations
  • Master's projects: oral presentations
  • Doctoral projects: oral presentations
  • High school projects: posters

Each category will be divided into the following sections:

  • Mechanical Engineering:
    • Construction Engineering
    • Process Engineering
    • Material Engineering
    • Mechanical Technologies


  • Electrical Engineering and Information Technology:
    • Electronics and Electrical Engineering
    • Information Technologies
    • Communication Technologies
    • Control Technologies


  • Interdisciplinary projects:
    • Mechatronics
    • Industrial Electronics
    • Robotics
    • Applied Mathematics and Physics
    • Applied Mechanics

Winners of the faculty competitions will register a project for the section best corresponding to the contents of the project via the web page Project Registration.

The registered participants are invited to send a paper covering her/his project for publishing in the conference proceedings via the web page Paper Submission. Instructions for preparing the paper are described at the web page Instructions for Authors.

K účasti na soutěži srdečně zveme studenty středních škol. Studenti se mohou soutěže zúčastnit s příspěvkem, který spadá do oborů soutěže. Jejich příspěvek musí být koncipován jako sada šesti plakátků formátu A4 orientovaných naležato. Příspěvek musí být připraven ve Wordu nebo v LaTexu.

Středoškolští studenti se k soutěži registrují stejně jako studenti vysokoškolští prostřednictvím stránky Project Registration, příspěvek odevzdávají prostřednictvím stránky Project Submission. Odevzdaný projekt bude jednak zveřejněn v tištěném sborníku soutěže (každé dvě strany naležato budou ve zmenšeném formátu umístěny pod sebe na jednu stranu sborníku) a jednak bude organizátory vytištěn k vyvěšení na speciálních panelech. Vytištěné příspěvky si účastník vyzvedne v den soutěže na recepci a vylepí na určené místo na připravených panelech.

Sending the project the author gives consent to copyright transfer to the publisher of the conference proceedings.
